Public Agency Law

Since its formation in 1974, Brown Winfield Canzoneri Abram Inc. (BWCA) lawyers have served as city attorney, redevelopment agency counsel, special counsel, or general counsel for numerous cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, housing authorities, joint powers authorities, and school/college districts. We currently act as the City Attorney for the cities of Cerritos, La Canada Flintridge, Monterey Park, and San Dimas.

As special counsel to public agencies on both litigation and transactional matters, we work closely with in-house counsel and develop strategies to ensure successful resolution of the agency's project or lawsuit. Our experience as in-house public agency counsel enables us to work effectively with agency staff members and elected officials.

As our role as City Attorney, we strive to develop a close, effective, and enjoyable relationship with the City Manager and City staff. From that relationship, we can become part of the team to accomplish the goals and objectives established by the City Council and City Manager.
