Public/Private Partnerships

Our longtime experience with public and private side representation enables the Firm to assist in creating and implementing successful public/private partnerships. We assist clients in developing and implementing plans and programs utilizing all available tools for revitalizing and redeveloping areas and sites that are impaired by market obsolescence, dilapidation, lack of employment opportunities, environmental contamination and other forms of blight. Those tools include reanalyzing and restructuring land use and zoning regulations, economic and tax incentives, federal, state and local grant and financing programs and forging and implementing successful public/private partnerships.

We are able to successfully facilitate public/private alliances because we understand the policies and regulatory constraints placed on public entities, as well as the challenge for business. We minimize potential entanglements and navigate a path that works for all parties.

The Firm assists real estate investors, lenders and developers in dealing with public agencies in many areas, including land use, environmental, redevelopment, economic development, disposition and development agreements, tax sharing, bond financing, master planned communities and eminent domain.

As City Attorney, Redevelopment Agency Counsel and Special Counsel for numerous cities and other agencies, the Firm provides legal support for a full spectrum of municipal, redevelopment and economic development activities and programs.
